WorldStar Award 2019 for FEURER

The world’s first EPS hazardous goods packaging without outer carton receives the WorldStar Award 2019, the highest global award in the packaging industry. Only the best ideas, innovations and technologies get the chance to participate in this competition.

The award-winning product in the Packaging Materials & Components category is a hazardous goods and insulation packaging made of airpop®. A packaging concept especially for dangerous and liquid goods of packaging classes I, II and III in inner packaging. Advantage of the packaging: The shock-resistant airpop ® does not need an outer packaging made of cardboard. Category X hazardous goods packaging for goods in packaging group I offers several advantages:

  • Approved by the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM).
  • Flexible in use due to the modular design.
  • Extremely impact-resistant and 100% recyclable due to the material used, airpop®.
  • Shipping without outer carton.
  • Accelerated packaging process, reduced shipping volume and cost reduction for shipping and disposal.

The packaging concept consists of a modular system. Bottom, intermediate rings and lid can be individually assembled to suit the goods and conditions of transport. This results in the smallest possible volume and reduces transport costs. A real benefit for the pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology, chemical shipping, laboratories and all those who ship hazardous materials cooled.

Special edition thermobox for food safety and handling convenience

The blue colour combination means: everything in this thermobox stays fresh. Or more specifically, cold food stays cold,  and hot food stays hot, while spoilage is prevented . But not only the crisp blue colour is new: entirely in keeping with food safety, the special edition KÄNGABOX®Professional comes with new features.

KÄNGABOX®FreshBlue Professional:

the special edition thermobox for food safety and handling convenience

More freshness

The newly developed knobs at the bottom of the thermobox allow an enhanced hot/cold flow – ideal for supporting cold chains according to HACCP standards. It is even possible to measure this : when keeping food cold or hot between -40°C and +100°C, the temperature drops or increases by only 1 – 3 °C per hour on average.

More hygiene

Food safety is also a question of sterility. That’s why the KÄNGABOX®FreshBlue Professional has also been optimised when it comes to hygiene. The new stacking feet on the bottom and stacking rim in the lid prevent contamination while ensuring stack stability. Thanks to the water drainage hole in the handle, the KÄNGABOX®FreshBlue Professional is completely dry when taking it out of the dishwasher .

More convenience

Large, comfortable handles and an empty weight of only 1.9 kg ensure that the thermobox is easy to carry even when heavily loaded. As always, the thermobox features the standard GN1/1 Gastronorm format and convenient recessed handles for removing Gastronorm containers.

The special edition also offers the proven benefits of the KÄNGABOX®Professional: such as the smooth, coated, hygienic surface, the tight-sealing lid and the convenient label fields. All in all, the KÄNGABOX®FreshBlue Professional thus offers more food safety and handling convenience for the gastronomy and catering industry, as well as for the food retail trade  and cold chain logistics.

Thermobox food safety

“Safe food” is the trend : avoiding food waste is good for the environment and the community, and, not least, saves money . FEURER is launching the KÄNGABOX®FreshBlue Professional precisely for these reasons. The insulation box made from exceptionally light EPP is characterised by excellent insulation properties, a high level of hygiene and additional convenience.

For the cold chain of the future

MAX is 1.90 m tall, a reliable type and an expert in fresh or frozen foods. Last year he lost 65 kg and has since then been transporting dairy products, fruit and vegetables in an even more environmentally friendly and ergonomic manner. MAX is a thermocontainer of the latest generation which has been developed jointly by FEURER and Olivo.

For over 50 years the French company Olivo has been producing cooling containers for the transport of food and healthcare products at a precisely controlled temperature. For the new MAX generation, Olivo has once more completely revised the thermocontainer concept. It was first of all analysed what was expected from a thermocontainer of the future: Stable temperatures, safe handling, simple ergonomics and a long service life were right at the top of the list. With the support of FEURER, Olivo tackled these requirements and incorporated them into the development of MAX.
