Case Study

Cellophane-based packaging for high-quality cosmetic products

A leading company in the cosmetics industry was looking for an alternative to conventional plastic films for its high-end perfume and cosmetic products. The packaging was intended to protect the products while also ensuring a high-quality presentation at the point of sale.

The challenge

Combining High-Quality Aesthetics and Material Properties

The company was faced with several challenges

  • Material Requirements
The packaging should meet specific requirements regarding material use and manufacturing.
  • High-Quality Look
Since these were premium products, the packaging was designed to reinforce the products’ high-quality image.
  • Product protection
The packaging should protect the products from dust, moisture and damage.

Solution

Cellophane wrapping based on cellulose

FEURER introduced the customer to a cellulose-based cellophane wrapping solution. The film used is made of cellulose-based cellophane and offers a transparent appearance as well as protective properties for high-quality cosmetics and fragrance products.

  • Material Properties
The film is made from cellulose as the base material and met the customer’s specified material requirements.
  • High-Quality Presentation
The transparent design enhances the presentation of high-quality products and ensures that the packaging design is clearly visible.
  • Product protection
The film has material-related barrier properties and supports the protection of the products during storage, transport and presentation.

Results

Material Change and High-Quality Product Presentation

The cellophane-based packaging met the requirements for product protection, material selection, and packaging design. At the same time, the packaging was adapted to the company’s defined material specifications.

  • Implementation of Packaging Requirements
The film used met the customer’s specified requirements regarding material usage, processing, and product presentation.
  • Switch to cellophane
The packaging material was changed by using cellophane instead of the plastic film that had been used previously.
  • Product Presentation
The transparent film keeps the design of the product packaging visible.
